PUNE, AUGUST 5, 2008: Being the 'Year of St. Paul', Don Bosco Youth Centre, Pune, decided to stage a Marathi Musical based on the life of this great saint. The Musical was composed and directed by Bro Charles Anthony. The story of this Musical is centred on the life of a youngster name Pakiya, who is an oppressor of the poor. But eventually God transforms his life and he becomes Prakash – a light to the downtrodden and poor people. The month long preparation for this Musical came to a climax with the two shows staged on August 2nd and 3rd, witnessed by over a 1000 people. While the show on August 2nd was staged at Koregaon Park, the next show was at Yerwada. The DBYC Brothers together with the youth from Sacred Heart Parish Yerwada, St. Joseph’s Parish Ghorpuri and Perpetual Succour Parish Tadiwala, formed the cast and production team for the Musical. The proceeds from this Musical will be used for the education of children of the nearby Gadge Maharaj slum.
