NASHIK, AUGUST 13, 2008: The Marian Month is being celebrated in many of the houses of our province during this time of the year. The various devotions and programmes serve to bring us closer to Our Blessed Mother. Don Bosco Parish – Nashik organized an ‘Academy’ in honor of Our Blessed Mother on Sunday August 10, to prepare for the Solemnity of Mary’s Assumption into Heaven. The Academy was held in the parish hall soon after the evening mass to facilitate the participation of all. The heavy rains did not dampen spirits but spurred on the devotees. Items were staged by the different religious communities in the parish, some of the parishioners and the Sunday School children. With skits and dances, music and song, Mary’s praises were sung. The prayerful atmosphere provided for all a very meaningful setting within which to pray and honour Mary. Everyone who came to the programme experienced in one way or other the love of Our Blessed Mother, and went back with happy memories of the evening spent praising Mary and drawing closer to her Son Jesus.
