BIS #1303 - SATPUR KIDS AT SOMESHWAR

Ajay D'Monte sdb NASHIK, FEBRUARY 28, 2009: The catechism teachers of St. Dominic Savio Parish, Satpur, recently organized a picnic for the catechism students to Someshwar, a spot visited by many pilgrims. Someshwar is situated along the Gangapur Road, on the banks of the river Godavari. The message of "Sarva-Dharma-Samabhava" was grasped by the children as they respectfully went around the sacred places at Someshwar. The Salesian Sisters, Sr. Shaila, Sr. Savita, Sr. Sajan and the Salesian Clerics, Br. Neville, Br. Mario and Br. Ajay organized and animated the day through songs, games, and their Salesian presence. After enjoying a common meal, which consisted in sharing their tiffins, the children spent their time playing on the banks of the river Godavari. They returned home around 5.00 pm with a lot of enthusiasm and satisfaction. The children greatly appreciated the self-sacrificing and creative presence of the Salesian Sisters and Brothers. They promised to show their gratitude by regularly attending the catechism classes in preparation for First Holy Communion and Confirmation. Special thanks to Fr. Nelson Falcao who coordinated the picnic and was present with the children throughout the day.
