WADALA, JANUARY 31, 2010: The grandest and most festive event of the year, the Ninety Third Annual Thanksgiving Day 2009-10 of St. Joseph's High School, Wadala was celebrated with enthusiasm on January 22, 2010.In what was to be a unique creative display the entire Josephite family bonded together for this magnificent event.
The Chief Guest for this occasion was Rev. Fr. Ajoy Fernandes, Vice Provincial. The school felicitated the Principal Rev Fr. Bernard Fernandes who celebrated 25 years of religious profession in the Lord’s vineyard. Mrs. Marie Almeida and Mrs. Premlata Kalra teachers of the Primary section who retired in this academic year rendering fruitful and tireless service to the institution were also felicitated.
The tiny tots of the Pre-primary Section welcomed the gathering giving them a message which came straight from their innocent hearts through their song ‘we love you.’ The PTA members praised the magnificent work of the hands of god in the form of a prayer dance
The little starry eyed stars of standards I and II enamoured by the moon their friend danced to the song Chandamama.This was taken from the album “Playing for change”. It is a collective statement from over 100 musicians spanning 5 continents seeking to understand differences so as to create a better world.
The year 2009-2010 has been a positive and fruitful year. The achievements in academics, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities were presented in the school report by the vice Principal Ms. Nicole Britto complemented by a Power Point Presentation.
The action packed suspense thriller "The Seven Sided Dice" followed. Games too can teach us lessons for life being the underlying theme of this musical reinforced our belief that victory of good triumphs over evil. The backdrop, sets, props, costumes and make-up created an atmosphere that left the audience spellbound.
The choir made up of students from std. II to IX rendered each song with passion and dancers tapped to the lively, rock-n-roll music.
The Ninety- third Annual Thanksgiving Day was a tremendous success thanks to the combined efforts of the entire staff and trainers and a pool of talented youngsters blessed at St. Joseph’s, Wadala.
