NERUL, AUGUST 18, 2010: Independence Day was celebrated on Sunday August 15, 2010. The Chief Guest for the day was Rev. Fr. Luis. The program began at 7.30am with the flag hoisting by the Chief Guest followed by the National Anthem. The students then performed a beautiful dance saluting our Motherland. Speeches in English and Marathi by Mishita from Class IX and Parth from Class V awakened the feeling of Patriotism in the students. A skit on the life of one of our valiant martyrs, Bhagat Singh made the audience think about the innumerable sacrifices made by our freedom fighters for an Independent India. The Chief Guest then distributed Certificates of Achievement to the winners of various CCA Competitions. The chief guest then spoke on the importance of Freedom, equality and justice in our lives.
The program then ended with a 'Vote of Thanks' by Fr. Anthony followed by distribution of sweets.
