PUNE, SEPTEMBER 12, 2010: Don Bosco Youth Centre (DBYC) together with the youth groups of various parishes in Pune staged the Musical Movin’ Out on September 11 and September 12. Troupes of dancers from different youth groups displayed their youthful exuberance while the singers enchanted the audience with their singing. Around forty youth, children and the community of DBYC took part in this musical directed by Fr. Edison Fernandes and his team.
Movin’ Out is the story about a group of friends and their debut into the adult world. The musical portrays how a group of friends learn to handle the pressures of life in the big challenging world. Some succumb to the lure of making a quick buck – no matter how devious. Some escape into a hazy world of drugs, greed, anger and violence. But the warmth of friendship eventually helps them overcome their personal shortcomings. They realize that the ultimate goal is not to stay mired in the rut of the past – but to move out…and make the most of their lives.
The audience enjoyed the musical and at the same time took home the message of moving out of the ordinary and leap into the unexpected.
