WADALA, FEBRUARY 8, 2011: On February 5, 2011, Shelter Don Bosco celebrated their Annual Day. Fr. Michael Fernandes, Provincial of the Mumbai Province, graced the occasion with his presence as a Chief Guest, accompanied by his thought-provoking and touching words. Mr. Joshi, a member of DWCWC (District women’s and child welfare committee) was also present for the function. He thanked Shelter Don Bosco, for all that they do for the young at risk in Mumbai.
The annual day is the appropriate time when the Management, Staff, Shelter boys and volunteers come together with a common spirit of cheer, wholehearted happiness and the attitude to thank all the benefactors.
The function commenced with an inspiring prayer dance, invoking God’s blessings, enabling one and all to raise their minds and hearts in gratitude to the Almighty. Rector Fr. William Falcao, read the annual report in a very explicit manner, highlighting the achievements of the present and past Shelter boys. Mr. Negi too graced the occasion with his presence.
The main highlight of the event was a video prepared by the STD X boys, as a mark of gratitude to the management and the staff of Shelter.
The boys entertained the gathering with their performances. The talented boys were duly praised with gifts and trophies for their good performance in academics, sports and general behavior. The past pupils shared their positive experience of their stay in shelter and the support they receive from Shelter.
