BORIVLI, MARCH 1, 2011: The National Science day was organized in our school on February 28 to commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect by Sir C.V. Raman on February 28, 1928. This day was celebrated in memory of this great Indian Scientist who won the first Nobel Prize for his contribution to Physics. The focal point of the celebration was to inculcate the spirit of inquiry and rational thinking in the minds of the students, our budding scientists.

The theme for the day was Man vs. Robot. The programme was marked by awarding Mst. Tejas Sawant the Gold Medal for his achievement as a Young Scientist in the Homi Bhabha Exam. Truly it was a feather in the cap for all. Then the students had to use their thinking caps for answering the questions in a round of a quiz organized for them. The quiz had a new introduction which included the Experiment-visual round which tested the application of concepts. The Red House bagged the prize in the quiz. Then, Mst. Karan Mody performed a mind-blowing dance as a robot. Finally, we had a debate on the same theme Man vs. Robot which went in the favor of the ‘For Man’ side.

The Science Day was celebrated with lot of fun and a competitive spirit.
