BORIVLI, JULY 2, 2011: Forty five Bombay Catholic Sabha (BCS) members from eight parishes from Goregaon to Dahisar were present for the BCS meeting. Also present were Fr. Ronald Menezes, our parish priest, Mr. Gordon, the President of the Sabha, Mr. Anand, the Vice President and RTI expet, Mr. Anil Joseph and Mr. Raphael, guardian of the Borivli unit and Executive Member. The good attendance showed the vibrancy of the Borivli deanery and the active participation of all the units.
The meeting commenced with an opening prayer and reading of the Minutes of the last meeting held on March 28, 2010.
Fr. Ronald Menezes, our Spiritual Director and Parish Priest welcomed all the parishes and congratulated the units for the work that they have been doing for the community at large. All units then reported their various activities for the last year in brief and also touched upon their future programs. Most of the units had already started the Help Desks for Senior Citizen’s cards, UID cards and Minority Schemes and Scholarships.
Mr. Gordon in his speech addressed the following issues:
- The Sabha website was almost ready and would be inaugurated shortly.
- He urged all parishioners to become members of the Sabha. He ensured full support for all the activities of the units and said that any point of time, if banners or any other material is required the centre would be ready to provide for the same.
- Sabha Day to be celebrated on November 13, 2011 which would be on a different line, laying more stress on fellowship and entertainment.
- On July 2 and July 3 there would be a training program for disaster management.
