BORIVLI, JULY 29, 2011:  An Annual Singing Competition was held at Don Bosco High School, Borivli for the Senior Secondary students. The students got a chance to sing their hearts out  on July 27, 2011. The competition was conducted separately for the Middle Section that is standards V-VII and the Higher Secondary section from standards VIII-X. In all fifty students participated in this competition.

A unique feature of this event was that students were given an opportunity to sing along with a Karaoke machine, which trained them to sing along with a music track. Some of the students were accompanied by the school band, led by our Principal Fr. George Carlos. Along with the normal judging criteria for singing the song on the right pitch, maintaining the timing and choosing an appropriate song, the participants were also marked on their level of Showmanship. The boys were allowed to dress like the singer if they wished to and perform like they do. Some of the students did a fantastic job and received an overwhelming applause from the audience.

It was a pleasant sight to see many students developing a keen interest in music over the past few years, a number of boys are now confident enough to perform fearlessly on stage.  Thanks to the encouragement they have received from their elders.

Music fills our hearts with joy. So, we look forward to many days in future when the school campus can be filled with the Sound of Music.
