Deacon Rixson NigrelJAITALA, OCTOBER 18, 2011: The church of Our Lady of Fatima, Nagpur was privileged to have B.J.P. MLA of South West Zone; Nagpur Mr. Devendra Fadanvis on October 16, 2011. On this auspicious day, the Parish had the grand inauguration of eight street lights, with underground connection, at Catholic Cemetery.
Mr. Fadanvis has sponsored these street lights for the Cemetery. Over the years the Catholic Cemetery was not given much importance and it did not have any lights. With the arrival of these street lights the parishioners have a better access to the graves of their departed ones. Mr. Fadanvis was facilitated with a bouquet of flowers, shawl and garlands by Fr. Dominic Lisboa the Parish Priest, Salesain Co- Operators, Past Pupils, Parish Council Members, youth and Mahila Mandal. In his speech, Fr. Lisboa thanked the MLA for his selfless service towards humanity and especially to the Catholic Community. He also requested for a better road leading to the cemetery and for water supply.
Mr. Fadanvis, in his speech, agreed to oblige at the earliest for the above request made by Fr. Lisboa.
