Deacon Rixson NigrelJAITALA, OCTOBER 25, 2011: Our lady of Fatima Church a mission station of Jaitala celebrated Mission Sunday with joy and love. The day began with a Solemn Eucharist celebrated by Fr. Dominic Lisboa. The Eucharist was well animated by the youth of the parish. Deacon Rixson Nigrel in his homily preached what mission is all about and how each of us can become missionary in a given situation. He also gave the broader understanding of the mission of the Catholic Church according to Vat-II. He exalted the faithful to be witnesses of Christ in the world.
After mass people actively participated in the fete games which were well organized by different zones, youth group and catechism children under the able guidance of Frs. Dominic and Cyril. The people enjoyed the food stalls put up by the parishioners. The generated income from the fete games and food stalls will be sent to the diocese to help the mission. Apart from this the people were given envelopes to contribute for the missions.
Overall the mission station of Jaitala took active part in proclaiming the word of God in their own small ways. May god bless our missions and the missionary working there.
