DIVYADAAN, NOVEMBER 10, 2011: On November 6, 2011, St. Patrick Youth had organized the annual inter parish football and throw ball tournament both for boys and girls at Divyadaan ground. There were six teams that participated from St. Anne's, Don Bosco and St. Patrick parishes. Of course, the champions Divyadaan brothers had added more colour to the entire tournament by their active participation and lively cheers.
Divyadaan has proved that the doors of success are opened for those who climb till the end. Besides the sportive spirit of the players the support and cheers of Fr. Rector and the Staff had resulted in winning the cup. Fr. Savio and the staff with immense experience led the team with their guidance and fatherly presence throughout the tournament.
It was indeed a red letter day for Divyadaan to bag the cup by beating the Don Bosco team and keeping the Salesian spirit high. This is a bench mark and a legacy that the senior Salesians left behind. Besides lifting the cup, the brothers experienced a learning process towards becoming effective youth workers, like our father Don Bosco. It was a wonderful opportunity for the brothers to meet the youth on the playgrounds.
"Energy is an eternal reward," says William Blake. Indeed, it is true to see so many boys and girls filled with energy and promise for the tournaments at Divyadaan. In fact, Divyadaan has always modeled their youth ministry on the 'Valdocco experience', as in the time of Don Bosco.
The final between Divyadaan and Don Bosco was the highlight of the tournament. Both the teams gave their best in the finals. Don Bosco team was knocked off, the final score 0-3.
At the end of the tournament, Fr. D'Souza, the rector of Divyadaan spoke and appreciated the spirit and the vigor of the youth. He awarded the runners with the silver medals and tokens. The winners Divyadaan brothers had no limits in expressing their joy and happiness. Captain Cl. Malton and goalkeeper Cl. Neville were awarded for their fine performance.
