BIS #2717 THIRTY NINTH ANNUAL ATHLETIC MEET- BORIVLI

BORIVLI, DECEMBER 03, 2011: The Thirty Ninth Annual Athletic Meet was held at Don Bosco High School ground Borivli. It was a sports event of both the Pre-primary and Primary Section. Accompanying the Guard of Honour was the Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Allwyn Misquita the Administrator and Rev. Fr. Ronald Menezes the Rector of Don Bosco Borivli. The school flag was hoisted by the Chief Guest, indeed a proud moment, may it flutter high always.

The event began with the fabulous march past by the primary section. The colourful parade of the KG section showcased symbols of Christmas Season, followed by the lighting of the torch. The meet was declared open by our Chief Guest. An array of colourful demonstration included mass drill by the little "ANNAS" of Std: I and II, fantastically trained by their respective class teachers. A sight of perfect co-ordination balance, flexibility and agility was the mulkhamb presentation. The tiny tots of Savio Kindergarten presented the Yoga and the Pyramids which was an exemplary example of following instructions and balancing.

The uniqueness of this 'Sports Day' was the colour. The colour code for the primary was blue as a sign of space, serenity and peace. The colour code for the pre-primary section was red; the colour of life and love led us into the festive Christmas season. With the tiny tots of Savio Kindergarten dressed with their candies, hollies, angels, bells, stockings and stars. Each one led by a Santa with his bag of goodies. The teachers and parents were dressed in red and white. They looked outstanding.

As the variety of event started each child was ready to accept challenges and feel the exhilaration of victory.

In the primary section 'The Best Athlete of the Year' trophy was shared by Master Lyndon D'souza and Master Glenn Thevar. The same honour was awarded to Master Omkar Rane in the Pre-primary Section. Certificates, cups and trophies were awarded to the winners,
"Gold medals don't make champions .... Hard work does."

"Team work is the fuel that allows common people to produce uncommon results."

Under the able guidance of the Management, Staff, Parents, P.T.A and the Students, the sports day was applauded and appreciated by one and all.

Keeping in mind the teaching of our Patron Saint, John Bosco – "Make time for sports and games." We at Don Bosco, Borivli have stood up to keep our selves in the forefront both in academics and as well as sports.
