BIS #2739 CHRISTMAS PROGRAM HELD AT TILLOLI

Cl. Clarence Martis sdb

DIVYADAAN, DECEMBER 20, 2011: The brothers of Divyadaan Cl. Jackson Souz, Cl. Vivian Andrews, Cl. Christovan Cardozo, Cl. Clarence Martis with the support of the staff, held a Christmas program for the girls of Standard IX at Tilloli on December 18, 2011.  The institute, a boarding school for the tribal girls of the Tilloli area, is situated at a distance of nearly sixty kilometer outside of Nashik and is run by the Assumption sisters. The brothers conduct scouting and moral science in the school every Thursday as a part of their apostolate.
The get-together began with a prayer song by one of the girls after which the girls put up a skit intertwined with song on the birth of Jesus. After that the brothers sang a few Christmas carols for the children. Cl. Jackson then gave the students a Christmas message on the need to help others and how by helping others you help yourself.
The games commenced soon after the short talk. The brothers organized a variety of games. The girls gave their best and enjoyed the games to the full. After games, the girls were provided snacks, thanks to the generosity of our benefactors and the staff of Divyadaan. The movie 'Nativity' based on the Christmas story was screened for them. This helped the girls to understand the skit that they had presented earlier. The program came to a close with the distribution of prizes. Sr. Jaya, the Superior of the community was grateful to the brother for organizing the day and she thanked God for making the sentiments of Christmas alive in the hearts of the young girls. Indeed the words of Jesus, "What you do unto others, you do unto me" were manifested here.
