BIS #2745 "GAT SAMMELAN" TEACHERS' CONFERENCE AT DON BOSCO NASHIK

NASHIK, DECEMBER 27, 2011: A Teachers' Seminar (Gat Sammelan) was held in the Parish hall of Don Bosco, Nasik on December 21, 2011 from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. As many as three hundred teachers of different schools from Centre-14 of Nashik City attended the Seminar. Fr. Diego Nunes, the Rector and Principal of Don Bosco High School and Junior College, organized the entire programme at the request of Mrs. Kalpana Patil, the Centre In charge from the Education Department of Zilla Parishad. Mrs. Shushada Deshpande, the Professor of S.M.R.K College and Mr. Pankaj pawar, the Assisstant Teacher of Nav Rachna Vidyalaya, Nashik were the resource persons of the Seminar.
After the ceremonial beginning of the Seminar with a prayer and lighting of the lamp, pasayadaan was sung by the teachers of Don Bosco. Fr. Diego Nunes felicitated Mrs. Kalpana Patil and the resource persons. Mrs. Patil explained the purpose of the Seminar to the teachers and thanked the Principal and management of Don Bosco for their support. Teacher Meena Chohkar read out the report of all the activities held in Don Bosco School. Fr. Diego Nunes also addressed the teachers and explained to them the Don Bosco way of educating the young minds. He also insisted that the teachers should receive training to handle the 'differently abled children' in their schools. Fr. Diego informed them that the teachers of Don Bosco have been receiving training to handle the children with psychological disorders from time to time which enables them to handle their students in a subtle way.
Mrs. Deshpande emphasized on the need of 'Proper Nutrition' to the growing kids and Mr. Pawar the other resource person shared the concept of 'Vedic Mathematics' with the teachers so that Maths becomes interesting and easy for the students. The primary students of Don Bosco presented a folk dance of Karnataka. Master Kaustubh Ponkshe hailed the Don Bosco way of teaching and praised the Principal and teachers in his speech. A game of Housie was also played by everyone to enliven/enlighten the ambience. The seminar concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Sir Nitin Pawar.
