BIS #2786 BORIVLI PLAYS HOST TO AN INTER-SCHOOL DEBATE COMPETITION

Neelam Rodrigues

BORIVLI, FEBRUARY 01, 2012: Anvil India 0.1 organized an inter-school English debate competition for the senior category (VIII to XII) in Don Bosco High School, Borivli. The event was conducted in the A.V. Hall. With many schools and colleges participating in the preliminary round, ten schools qualified themselves for the finals. We were proud to have our school as a contestant in the final round too.
The final round was held on January 28, 2012. The topic for the debate was, "Ignorance is bliss". Our boys chose to speak against it. Though the speakers for the opposite teams seemed to be very efficient, our boys certainly enthralled the audience with their views. The judges seemed to be stunned as they heard the boys putting forth and convincing the audience and judges with their calculated ideas. Mst. Jude Lobo of std VIII, Mst. Neil Nagwekar of std IX and Mst. Tejas Sawant of std X indeed made us proud by bagging the first place.
We congratulate them and wish them best in future.
