BORIVLI, FEBRUARY 13, 2012: The feast of Our Lady of Lourdes was celebrated on February 11, 2012. This day is also celebrated as "The World Day of the Sick." We at St. John Bosco Church had a special Eucharist for the sick and aged at 5 p.m. The Parish Council members offered their services to bring the sick and old people from the various zones of our church. Our confirmation candidates also assisted in helping the people to the church.
Fr. Ronnie Menezes welcomed the people at the gate and also made himself available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Fr. Allwyn Misquitta together with Mr. Harry Menezes recited the Healing Rosary prior to the Mass.  Fr. Allwyn also gave an inspiring homily on how people from all over the world throng the Shrine of our Lady of Lourdes for her special intercession and are healed through the Holy Eucharist and Adoration service. He stressed on the essence of healing emotionally, spiritually, physically, socially and through nature.  The old and sick were given a special anointing.  After Mass there was a special gathering for the sick and the aged. You could see the people return home with smiling faces despite their pains and sufferings.
