BIS #2824 PILGRIMAGE TO INFANT JESUS SHRINE - NASIK

Sarita Vaz

BORIVLI, FEBRUARY 22, 2012: On February 18, 2012 a group of forty eight parishioners of Don Bosco Borivli, together with Fr. Allwyn Misquitta went on our annual Pilgrimage to the Infant Jesus Shrine at Nasik. Our Parish Priest, Fr. Ronald Menezes, said a little prayer for us and then flagged off the pilgrimage.
We started our journey on a prayerful note by reciting the Rosary led by Fr. Allwyn. We had a quick breakfast on the way at Kasara, and then headed straight for the Shrine. We were privileged to have the Bishop of Nasik celebrate the Eucharist for us. The Mass was concelebrated by a number of priests who had come from far and wide, including our very own Fr. Allwyn. The Solemn Eucharist celebrated on the School ground was a very spiritually enriching experience. It was indeed overwhelming to see such a large number of devotees of Infant Jesus, pouring in from all parts of the country. After Mass we had a quick look around the Shrine and then boarded our bus.
We then headed for the Salesian Training Institute on College Road, where we received a very warm welcome from Fr. Ashley and his team. The Salesian novices welcomed us with their melodious singing. We were then served tea and refreshments and we had a short fellowship. At around 4.00 pm, we started our journey back home and made it to Don Bosco's Borivli on time.
It was truly a day well spent.
