FAITH CELEBRATION DAY

BORIVLI, FEBRUARY 23, 2012: The faith celebration of Std.VII and VIII was celebrated on the in Mary Immaculate Girls' High School, Borivli.  There were about two hundred and forty five students from all the surrounding parishes of Borivli such as Immaculate Conception, Our Lady of Remedy, St. Louis, Christ the King, Our Lady of Assumption and St.John Bosco. The students were accompanied by their Sunday school teachers. 

 

The program began with a prayer service after a brief welcome. The icebreakers helped the children to mix and mingle with those from other parishes. This was followed by the different skits put up by the children according to the theme given to each parish.  The themes given to different parishes were:  Consumerism, Mithi River, Pilgrimages, Mass Media and Global Warming.  The theme for our parish was Mass Media.  The children enjoyed performing on this topic and brought out the theme very well by showing the negative and positive effects of mass media.  Every theme had a very effective and informative message.


The second session after the interval was very exciting. Children were divided into groups and each group given three bible quizzes.  The children very keenly solved the quiz and the best two groups were declared winners.  This was followed by the Holy Eucharist celebrated by Rev. Fr.Vincent Barbouza of Immaculate Conception Parish.


The afternoon ended with the vote of thanks by the compere Trevor, of Assumption Parish. The children truly had an exciting and informative day.
