DON BOSCO KAPADVANJ INAUGURATES THE ROSARY FRESCO

KAPADVANJ, APRIL 20, 2012: Don Bosco Kapadvanj has been blessed with an ambience where people of other faiths manifest a great sense of openness and tolerance to our Christian presence in this region. Year after year we have observed that at Christmas, groups of people belonging to other faiths and schools in the vicinity arrange trips to our institution in order to catch a glimpse of the Crib and decorations and to hear about the story of Jesus. This phenomenon stirred our thinking and we hit upon a plan to make the catechesis of God's plan of Salvation to these people even more attractive.


The building construction of Don Bosco Kapadvanj lent itself to carry out our plan. We saw that the walls of our building provide a natural background for depicting the life of Christ in colours. So we decided to paint a Rosary Fresco capturing the twenty Mysteries of the Holy Rosary. While this project was only a dream initially, the declaration of the year of the Rosary this year in our Diocese made the dream take on a sense of urgency for its fruition.


Consequently, the aspirants of Don Bosco Kapadvanj and the confreres of the community got their act together and ventured into a Fresco painting project. Spending sleepless nights and hours of daylight labour, the entire community engaged itself in an enterprise that will for a long time to come, serve as a powerful evangelizing and catechetical tool that beautifully provides a visual and colourful display of our Faith to all those who set foot in our campus.


The entire painting project was completed within three weeks. It was inaugurated and blessed on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at the hands of Rev. Fr. Rocky Pinto the Vicar General of the Diocese of Ahmedabad who was invited as the Chief Guest for the occasion of the Inauguration of this Rosary Fresco as also for the Musical Play on the Holy Rosary, staged by the aspirants of Don Bosco Kapadvanj.


We have truly experienced the blessings of Our Lady and Our Lord as we went about this Musical and Fresco Painting Project in their honour. May the seekers of Truth be led to the Truth through the Divine Intercession of our Blessed Mother and the Blessings of Our Lord.
