REV FR. NELSON CONCELEBRATES AT LOYOLAKAR E-BASH
AHMEDNAGAR, AUGUST 3, 2012 : July 31 marks the feast of the Jesuit Founder, St. Ignatius Loyola. Many Salesians and two Volunteers of Don Bosco(VDB) from Malta, joined the celebrations and participated in the yatra event in the evening at Loyola Sadan, Shrirampur. The Eucharist was officiated by the Jesuit Provincial, Rev. Bhausaheb Sonsare.
Frs. Nelson Falcao, James Shelke, Prakash Balerao and the Vicar of Aurangabad and Fr. Ambrose Rebello concelebrated. Many priests from the Dioceses of Aurangabad and Nasik also celebrated alongside. Frs. James Nigrel, Cedric, Bento and Gohil also took part representing the Salesians. The new grotto dedicated to St. Ignatius of Loyola was also inaugurated. The preacher, Fr. Bahusaheb spoke about the invitation of the Jesuit General, Kovenbach ‘to re-call, re-store and re-present’ the Good News of Jesus to the people of our times and place, in our personal lives.
Fr. Christopher Shelke, the official Jesuit historian of the Congregation congratulated Fr. Nelson for rendering a more authentic version of the Krista Purana . The feast ended with supper.
