WADALA (E), AUGUST 03, 2012: The parish of St. Dominic Savio came together for the feast of Saint Joaquim and Saint Anne, which is also celebrated as “Parents Day”. The Eucharistic celebration was animated by the youth to honor all the parents of the parish. In his homily, Fr. Ronald Menezes, shared some wonderful insights on parenting and provided some food for thought for the children and youth too.
This was followed by a celebration organized by the youth of the parish in the church hall. The various events included a song by the children, a dance performance by the altar servers and a humorous skit by the youth which kept the parents glued to their seats till the end. Games served as an ice-breaker and helped those gathered to freely mix about. The parents also had an opportunity to shake a leg to the tune of some ‘Golden Oldies’.
All the parents appreciated the efforts of the youth and the participants that contributed towards the success of the event. Such occasions give an opportunity for the youth and all the parishioners to unite as one and “To Learn, Love and Live the Savion Way.”
