DAKOR, AUGUST 17, 2012 : On August 15, Don Bosco School Dakor celebrated the Independence Day at 8.15am with Fr. Isaac, the Rector as the chief guest. The neighbouring communities of FMA and ST. Ann’s were present for the flag hoisting ceremony.
The school assembly honoured the national flag with the salute and singing the national anthem. Fr. Isaac in his inspiring speech spoke about the Pancham i.e. fivefold path. 1. Change yourself than change the world. 2. Pray for peace in the world. 3. Fast once a week. 4. Conserve the environment. 5. Do a good turn daily as in scouting.
Ms. Nancy of std. tenth delivered a speech highlighting the sacrifice done by the freedom fighters. Ms. Nikita, a primary teacher spoke on the struggle for independence. Std nineth boys performed a thrilling dance on a patriotic song “Suno gaur se duniya valo”.
After the flag hoisting catholic students along with the teachers and few parishioners participated in the solemnity of our blessed mother (Assumption). The main celebrant for the Eucharist was Fr. Ignas Macwan. Fr. Isaac in his homily emphasized on the whole problem are we truly free inspite of independence.? The solution he gave was that Mary shows us the way to freedom inspite of the problems we face in our daily life. The liturgy of the Eucharist was well animated along with good singing by the boarding boys and girls.
In the evening the boarding boys had an enjoyable time with lightening tournaments and a day concluded with the Marian Housie.
