WHAT GOOD CAN COME FROM… ANOTHER PURUSKAR?

BHINGAR, SEPTEMBER 05, 2012 : There are three types of people who get Puraskars.
The first type are those who pay for it and are given an award.
The second type of people are those who find fulfillment in being passionate about what they love and their sense of fulfillment, though unrewarded is the invisible award.
The third type of people are those who produce a volume and intensity of research work that is recognized by society and rewarded at a glamour event with fame and glory.
This third type is the Saptahik Upadeshhak Adarsh Shikshak Puraskar 2012 awarded to Fr Dr Nelson Falcao, Ph. D. for his academic, scholarly & voluminous contribution to the Marathi language, literature and culture today on September 05, on the occasion of Teacher’s Day.
Twenty three awardees will gain recognition from the fifteen districts of Maharastra and four of them will be from Ahmednagar District. The Upadeshak Awards given by a Newspaper will be mainly given to Teachers who have proved themselves in society for the excellence of their skills and their quality of educational pedagogy. Fr Dr Nelson Falcao who stands at the top the awardees pyramid is the keynote speaker at the function.
KRISTAPURANA PURASKARS OR AWARDS RECEIVED: The following Puraskars or awards were received by Fr. Dr. Nelson Falcao, sdb for the work of translating and bringing about a critical edition of the Kristapurana between October 2009 till today. The Marathi version is available in Audio format. The English version is in print.

Nashik Jilha Sahityik – Sarvajanik Vachanalaya Puraskar, Nashik awarded by the District Literary Group running Libraries.
Ahmednagar College, Ahmednagar awarded by Academic Staff of the College.
Marathi Kristi Sahitya Sammelan Puraskar, Vasai awarded by Marathi Christian Literary Group.
Sankalp Gunavanta Puraskar, Nashik awarded by Suwarta Sahitya Puraskar, Giriz, Vasai awarded by Suwartha Catholic Monthly Magazine.
Holy Cross, Nashik – Kavivarya Tilak Vachanalaya Puraskar awarded by Jesuits of Nashik Pune Province in the name of famous Narayan Vaman Tilak.
Dominic Savio Nutanikarana Sohala, Puraskar, Nashik awarded by people of Satpur at the time of the renovation of the Church.
Kristi Samaj Bhushan Puraskar awarded by Christian Welfare Group.
Catholic Kristi Samaj Sangh, Nashik awarded by Protestant Catholic Group.
Apang Seva Sahitya Puraskar awarded by Special Society for the Handicapped Kusumagraj and Dr. A.V. Varty.
Jilha Sahityik Puraskar awarded by Prakash Kiran Pratishthan, Shrirampur awarded by a Shrirampur Literary Group
Utkrushta Sahitya Puraskar awarded by a Nashik Literary group.
Marathi Kristi Sahitya Gaurav Puraskar awarded by Christian Marathi Literature Group.
The Rotary Priyadarshini Award 2012 -2013 for Vocational Excellence was given on July 30, 2012 by Rotary Club 3132 in Ahmednagar.
Last and the latest plum on the pudding is the Saptahik Upadeshhak Adarsh Shikshak Puraskar 2012, a Maharastra State Award crown the list of awards received by 
Fr. Dr. Nelson Falcao Ph.D.
