BORIVLI-MUMBAI, MARCH 06, 2013: Picnic! Picnic! Picnic! Finally came March 02, the most awaited day, when the children from our Prayas Kendra, ( YaR outreach centre) were excited and all ready to go.
Sixty in all, study class and tailoring students of Prayas Kendra jumped in the waiting bus. Before leaving, Fr. Allwyn Misquitta said a small prayer for taking us safely. Singing and clapping, we reached Royal Garden Resort, Naigaon.
The children were shown where to keep their belongings and after relishing a hearty breakfast of upma, idli-chutney and a hot cup of tea, set out for the water games and swimming pool. It was great fun watching them play. They played till noon, changed and set out for lunch which was sumptuous and filling.
After lunch, the children were taken for a game of dashing cars. Then, they were treated to golas and popcorn followed by musical chairs and lastly a disco in which they really enjoyed dancing.
At 4.00 p.m. before winding up, the tired but happy children were refreshed with a cup of ice-cream.
The students would like to thank Rector, Rev. Fr. William Falcao, Parish Priest and Director of Prayas Kendra, Rev. Fr. Aloysius Furtado and Rev. Fr. Allwyn Misquitta, the study class teachers and volunteers for all their help and support in making this an unforgettable day.
We would also like to thank Mr Shaikh Ghulam Ali for organizing it smoothly and for his constant presence.
