LONAVLA-MAHARASHTRA, MARCH 19, 2013: The students of Std. eleventh Science of Don Bosco School and Junior College, Lonavla organised a street play and a house to house visit to increase awareness on the Global Warming Phenomenon as part of their outreach programme on Saturday, March 16.

The street play was held at the Lonavala Bus Depot followed by house visits to make each family aware of what Global Warming is all about and how they would be affected by it. The street play was in Hindi and caught the attention of all the passengers awaiting their respective buses.

The appreciation of the crowd was more evident when many began to ask questions to the students after the play expressing their concern for this global issue and eager to know how they were unconsciously contributing to it.

Even the house visits saw many people actually giving time to listen to what the students had to say and some even committing to reduce household greenhouse gases which contribute to the depletion of the ozone layer.

The issue of Global Warming is the theme for the entire month as part of the environment year in Don Bosco Lonavla. The outreach programme was a great learning experience for both the general public and the students themselves.
