A HOME FOR THE YOUNGSTERS

JHABUA-ALIRAJPUR, APRIL 02, 2013:  In Commemoration of Don Bosco's Birth Bicentenary Jyoti Bhavan Annexe Foundation Stone was blessed by Salesian Vice Provincial, Rev. Fr. Ajoy Fernandes sdb.

 

A home for the youngsters of Jhabua began its construction process on March 23, 2013. Jyoti Bhavan, as of now caters to the students belonging to class sixth to tenth. In order to reach out to many more youngsters, a need was felt to erect a structure which can house youth studying in std. XI and XII.

 

A short prayer service was held at 11:30 am on the construction site. Rev. Fr. Ajoy Fernandes blessed the foundation stone. Confreres from Alirajpur, our Mother house along with the confreres from Chhotaudepur came for the ceremony. Priests from the Diocese and Sisters from nearby convents also were present for the occasion. Lay people and past pupils too participated in the ceremony.

 

The service began with a hymn melodiously sung by the boys residing in Jyoti Bhavan asking God to bless all who have a hand in the erection of the structure. Fr. Leslie Periera, the Rector of the house, explained the motive for erecting the building, which is to remain true to Don Bosco's Spirit of serving the youngsters. Fr. Ajoy, then asked all those gathered to thank the good Lord for the many graces received and also for the superiors who are carrying this project forward.

 

A short intercessory prayer was led by Fr. Ajit Munis.  Fr. Royal D'Abreo, In charge of Jyoti Bhavan asked the boys to thank the benefactors because of whom they enjoy many facilities. Fr. Ajoy then garlanded the picture of Jesus and blessed the land.

 

In a symbolic way, a portion of the land was dug by Frs. Ajoy, Leslie and Royal. As is the custom, a coconut was broken and sweets were distributed after the ceremony. The Ceremony and the place arrangement was well planned by Fr. Pratap Damor. The Priests and the Religious had a sumptuous meal and the boys too enjoyed the food.

 

May God bless this project and carry this work forward to a successful completion. This structure a home for the youngsters, will indeed be a blessing.
