BIS # 3702 JAM ROOM FOR YOUTH

BORIVLI-MUMBAI,OCTOBER 11, 2013: Music was part and parcel of Don Bosco's Educative System. His Oratories were always full of games and Music. A Salesian house without

music is like a Body without a Soul says Fr. Aloysius Furtado sdb.

The recent Provincial Chapter focused our attention to dedicate Salesian Staff and Infrastructure to help the youth develop their potential.

In view of this mandate, Bosco Boys Home decided to dedicate a Music room called "JAM ROOM" to the memory of Fr. Bosco Pereira. A "JAM ROOM" is a sound proof room where people can assemble to 'FREAK OUT' in the right sense!!  They can play and amplify music or try the Karaoke. Budding musicians can utilize this facility to practice their Instruments with an amplifier.

This entire sound proof room was constructed with indigenous material and available resources. Fr. Adolf and his community at Kurla donated the electronic sound equipments. Fr. Corlis Gonsalves sponsored the constructions cost and Fr. Anaclete and his sister Angelina Nunes donated various musical instruments.

The "JAM ROOM" was inaugurated by Fr. Corlis Gonsalves in the presence of all the conferers from the neighboring Parish Community as well as Fr.Anaclete and Fr. Augustine from Walwande and Shelti.

Fr. George Carlos played a very sentimental song on the Saxaphone titled "I'll Silenzo" in memory of Fr.Bosco Pereira.
