BIS # 3735 DON BOSCO MATUNGA CELEBRATES CHILDREN'S DAY

MATUNGA-MUMBAI, NOVEMBER 4, 2013: Don Bosco High School, Matunga celebrated Children's Day on 30th October 2013.The day began with the students assembling in the school quadrangle at 8.00 a.m. The Rector, Fr. Wilfred D'Souza brought out the significance of the day - the birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru who loved children, in whose honour the day is celebrated. He also wished the staff and students a very joyous Diwali and invited everyone to have a safe and sound-free Diwali.

After the Rector's address the teachers conducted a prayer service. They invited the Student Council to light the lamp, while all joined in singing the hymn, 'there shall be showers of blessing'. The teachers also extended their hands over the students and blessed them. After the prayers the entertainment began. The teachers put up a host of items to entertain the students – Dances, Songs, Award ceremony and so on.

The students then assembled in their respective classes where the Class teacher and the Associate teacher conducted something special for the students. After an hour of entertainment in the classroom the students went home happy looking forward to meet each other after the holidays.
