BIS # 3802 THE FEW WHO THIRST FOR THE WORD OF LIFE ARE BLESSED

by BIS correspondent

BHINAGAR-AHMEDNAGAR, DECEMBER 10, 2013: A small group of about twenty persons gathered together in St John Baptist Church, Bhingar on 5th December, from 4.00 pm to 8.30 pm, to listen to the preaching of the Vincentian Priest Fr. Jameson Thomas and his team of laymen and a woman who preached the Word of God to the few thirsting souls.

In between, the Eucharist was celebrated and the preaching continued till the event concluded with the Adoration and exposition of the Blessed Sacraments. Each one was laid hands on and prayers said for them and this bought an end to the Tabor Healing prayer service which is a monthly service offered by the Bhingar Parish to those one percent who thirst and hunger for the richness of the Word of God in their lives.

Those who regularly attend weekly Mass were the main attendees. Just as in a class there is a diamond, so to in church, the top five percent thirst and hunger for the riches of the faith, the average ninety percent attend Sunday mass regularly and the last five percent stay at home without the gift of the Eucharist and the sacraments.

Each educator and priest has to take care of the brilliant committed parishioners- the top 5% , the average  regular church goers- the middle 90%, and the lazy, backward and outstanding Catholics- the lowest 5%, so does Bhingar parish.

Manage the parts and small groups to manage the whole is a process, yet the parish cannot be managed by excluding work for the total whole group. The slogan is: do not "divide and rule" like the colonials did, but "unite to move," "unite and move." Those who thirst for the Word of Life are truly blessed." Lives are transformed and the process of discipleship affirmed. Re-evangelizing the baptized!
