MADYA PRADESH-JHABUA, JANUARY 5, 2015: Our newly ordained priests Frs. Kiran and Johnson arrived at Don Bosco Jyoti Bhavan hostel, Jhabua on January 5, 2015. The community of Jyoti Bhavan welcomed the newly ordained heartily. The Holy Eucharist was celebrated on Monday January 5, in the morning at 6:15 a.m.

The sermon preached by Fr. Johnson, highlighted the essentiality of being good Christians and honest Citizens, based on the centrality of Christ focusing that God dwells in our hearts and not in the Churches or temples specifically in the form of statues. Thereafter, the ceremony of the ‘Kissing of the Priest’s hand’ was conducted. As the day past, the new priests got an opportunity to interact with the boys. In the evening, we had a small felicitation programme for our new priests. They were welcomed to the hall in the traditionally Bhili tradition were-in four boys who were traditionally dressed accompanied them to the stage. They were then honored by putting a ‘Pheta’ on their heads.

The celebration continued with the cutting of the cake, followed by a heart-warming address and a song of blessing which nearly brought tears into their eyes. At the end of the felicitation, the newly ordained spoke to the boys with regards their vocation and their response to God. Later, they shared in gist their vocation story, their difficulties and short comings and how with the help of our Lord and our Blessed Mother they were able to overcome them.

They concluded their talk by saying that they were happy to be Salesian priests. May God bless them in their future ministry. Frs. Kiran and Johnson continued being in the company of the boys until it was time for supper. The boys were then shown a movie, on the occasion of two newly ordained servants of God coming to our community.
