BIS #4524 BOSCO QUEST TESTS YOUNG GENIUSES

by BIS Correspondent

MUMBAI, AUGUST 20, 2015: Over a hundred Sunday school children from Our Lady of Dolours Church in Wadala pitted their wits against each other in Bosco Quest 2015, an annual quiz programme, held on August 16.

The competition this year was held to mark the Bicentenary of Don Bosco's birth and took place in the school hall.

Before the start of the competition, the children were divided into eight teams, namely Savio, Besuco, Magone, Cagliero, Rua, Rinaldi, Comollo and Cafasso.

The judges for the programme were Leena D'Silva, the Director of Mona Remedial School, Dadar and Sister Hilda Braganza, the Director of AMAR Media Centre at the Mazzarello Welfare Centre, Wadala.

The children were given questions and answers based on Don Bosco, three weeks before the competition to prepare.

There was a healthy spirit of competition among the teams and the catechists animating each team were as much a part of it. The eagerness with which they tackled each puzzle sheet was evidence of this.

In the rapid fire round, Kastle Farro stood out. Team Savio came first in a tie-breaker with Team Rua and Team Rinaldi came in third.

A dance competition - that featured every member of the team – took place and the youth danced to a verse of the song "We Thank You, O Lord, For Don Bosco".

A colouring relay was also held, wherein team members took turns to colour a picture of Don Bosco as creatively as they could.
