BIS #4884 FATHER MARIA AROKIAM KANAGA COMMENCES EXTRAORDINARY VISITATION IN MUMBAI

MUMBAI, AUG12, 2016: The leaders of communities and the confreres of the Salesian Province of Mumbai gathered at Don Bosco Provincial House, Matunga on August 11, 2016 for the Extraordinary Visitation by Father Maria Arokiam Kanaga, the Regional Councillor for South Asia. 

 

Father Kanaga led the assembly into prayer, following which Father Savio Silveira - the Salesian Vice Provincial- welcomed the gathering and Father Godfrey D'Souza, the Salesian Provincial of Mumbai, presented Father Kanaga with a floral bouquet. Father Provincial then welcomed the Salesians, reading article 104 of the Constitution.

 

Father Kanaga in his address to the gathering focused on the concerns of the congregation as set down by the Rector Major and the General Council. He emphasised the need to live genuine religious lives and dwelt on the required expectations from each individual community.

 

Post the conference, Father Kanaga released the book, 'Revolution of Tenderness' authored by the scholastics at Divyadaan, edited by Sharmeela De Vaz and published by Tej-Prasarini, Don Bosco Communications. He also released the SDBWest edited by Father Valerian Pereira.
